Skinning is one of the three gathering professions in the World of Warcraft. What you do is skin beasts after they die, taking the leather and hides from them. These are used in many professions, but the most common profession that requires these pieces of leather is Leatherworking.
If you want to train up skinning, you must first reach level 5. At level five you can go to a skinning trainer and learn the skill, but make sure you also buy a skinning knife from the skinning supplies vendor, which is usually standing next to the trainer. From here, you go around and kill as many beasts as you can, skinning each one. There are some places that are better than others when it comes to leveling skinning, so here is a breakdown for the best places to go for level 1-75 of skinning for both horde and alliance characters.
Horde Skinning Leveling Guide 1-75
|Tirisfal Glades Level 1-75||Durotar Level 1-60|
|Eversong Woods 1-75||Barrens Level 60-75|
Alliance Skinning Leveling Guide 1-75
|Dun Morogh Level 1-60||Teldrassil Level 1-75|
|Loch Modan Level 60-75||Azuremyst Isle Level 1-75|
Once your character reaches level 50 in skinning, make sure you go back to your trainer and learn the next rank of skinning, which allows you to increase your skill up to level 150. If you are not sure which continent you are on to compare with this list, then just take a quick peek through the Starting Zone leveling guide for Horde or the Starting Zone leveling guide for Alliance. This will help you know that you are going the right direction and leveling both your character and your professions in the right place.
